Tech Data celebrates the World Cup 2014
For the moment being, the brands that will be participating are Lenovo, APC, Cisco, HP and Microsoft, as Tech Data is in the process of adding more vendors. It will last from June 12 to July 13, same duration as the World Cup.
As Christian Ibañez, Marketing Account Executive for Tech Data said, this idea was born out of a desire to motivate the sales team, as well as the working environment and give the sponsoring vendors a return on their investment. With support from vendors’ funds, they created a mini soccer field, decorated and have available lunches for all.
In order to inspire vendors in benefitting from this five week incentive, Tech Data, under an open order sales report, created a suite with the theme of the World Cup in order to generate an atmosphere where people can enjoy this exciting event. As Ibañez continued to explain, “the way it works is that the sales rep has to close three or more orders that are in those reports for them to gain access into the suite, watch the game and pick up some promotional items”.
Even though it is a bit early to determine final results, the majority of the objectives have been met, as the Tech Data team is very enthused to get to work, have fun and be able to watch the World Cup series, collaborating with others in a different and creative way.
