AMD announced an update to its family of central processing units (CPU) AMD FX, holder of a Guinness World Record. The new line of processors continue with the brand’s tradition of providing a completely unblocked experience and customizable to the desktop users. At the heart of the newest AMD FX processor is the new multi-nuclei “Piledriver” architecture, which offers up to 15 percent more performance and a lower price than the previous generation. The improved performance of this new architecture is designed for multi-thread applications, offering users an external response capacity and mega-workload performance.
“Gamers and PC enthusiast that purchase the AMD FX processors, have even more celebrate with the increase in speed and the value that we are offering”, expressed Leslie Sobon, Vice President of Desktop Computer Products and Components at AMD. “After last year having presented to the market the first and only eight nuclei processor, we now have value frequencies that are even faster and an architecture of a high performance nucleus x86 that is totally new to satisfy advanced users”.
The AMD FX processors open the door to a world of possibilities when combined with other AMD technologies, such as AMD 9-Series motherboard chipset and AMD Radeon HD 7000 graphic cards with the technology of AMD Eyefinity multi-monitor. AMD also offers other downloadable software updates that give users liberty to increase performance with the OverDrive utility, manage their games with AMD Catalyst™ Control Center or take advantage of the power of multiple graphic cards working in parallel with the AMD CrossFire technology.
“After what we have seen from the previous AMD FX processors generation, HWBOT”s overclockers are anxious to see what the new AMD FX Series processor has”, said Frederick Calordyn, Founder and Executive Director of the competitive overclocking website, HWBOT.org. “Considering that the previous generation broke the frequency world record, by raising it to the next level, we hope to see the new AMD FX processor grow the brand even further”, added Colaryn.
