Ingram Micro teams up with Blackberry
As one of the leading IT distributors in Latin America with an extensive presence and 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Ingram Micro offers an ample portfolio of services: activations, a repair business in Costa Rica, end-to-end supply chain solutions. For these specific solutions, they offer capabilities where they plan and manage supply chain lifecycles, create demand, enable, prepare and deliver devices, and maximize value.
BlackBerry already had a history with BrightPoint, a company that was acquired by Ingram Micro last year. When Ingram Micro acquired Brightpoint, the main was to increase their mobility market in other countries, hence BlackBerry’s participation. The company sees a lucrative opportunity to get BlackBerry into the enterprise world; in turn, BlackBerry has a strong presence in Latin America, where their mobile phones are very well received. Ingram has a wide reseller base that will be focusing on selling mobility products and BlackBerry will be an asset on leveraging the sales.
At the moment, one of their main goals for 2014 aside from increasing their mobility market, is to expand into the Caribbean and grow by a large percentage. “We know what we offer, what differentiates us from the rest and the advantages that shapes us as a company”, offered Mackle as a finishing thought.
