Nvidia fan builds GeForce GTX 690 card

This tech savvy consumer began his quest in July, when he brainstormed the schematics for his GPU card using Lego modelling software.  It took him three months to complete his GTX 690 model, which measures about six feet long by two feet wide and has a working fan.  Other fans have expressed their devotion in different ways, such as getting tattoos of the graphic chip maker’s logo.

Li has visited the company’s headquarters, in Santa Clara, Calif and gotten an autograph from the CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang.  Nvidia released the dual-GPU GTX 690 in the spring of 2012, packing in eight Graphics Processing Clusters (GPCs) with 16 Streaming Multiprocessor (SMX) units, 3,072 CUDA parallel processing cores, 256 texture units, and 64 ROP units.
