APC, Vision Solutions, Cisco, Brocade, Lenovo, CyberPower, Microsoft, NEC, HP and Eaton were present to talk about their plans for the future, strategies and business at Tech Data’s offices in Doral, FL. The event, which started with a welcome mixer at the Mandarin Hotel on July 21, continued the next day with a welcome from Deena LaMarque and Roberto Blanco to all the guests.  

Joe Quaglia, President, the Americas of Tech Data, explained the importance of maximizing value with Tech Data, as well as several topics such as mobility solutions, technology trends, the AIS Solution Provider Support.  He explained to GlobalMedia that “If we get the team educated, trained, we will able to translate that nicely to our customers.  Getting our customers enabled with the right enablement tools and training is another goal.  We want to bring our specialization to the market, through our reselling partners.”  

Others, like Alejandro Morales from Microsoft, talked about products, the cloud, servers, hybrid concept, Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.  Marcelo Vanin, Sales Director and Renata Konikosita, Partner Channel Manager of Vision Solutions respectively, explored the company’s solutions, partnerships, as well as their achievements in the industry of technology.  Enrique Ortiz, Business Development Regional Director of HP, presented the company’s education, vision and strategy, as well as the importance of HP calculators in the education sector.  

Viviane Meirelles, Inside Sales Engineer at Eaton, saw this summit as “a wonderful, intimate opportunity to talk sales, business.  We want to plant the seed with resellers and highlight the importance of our fifth element of infrastructure.”  CyberPower presented the surge protectors, Power Distribution Units, which include Basic PDU, Metered PDU, Switched PDU, among others. 

“There is so much more we plan to do and part of that is training the resellers.  We feel very good about our strategy, where we are, the successes we’ve had. Even though Tech Data is 40 years old, we really are just getting started.”  Quaglia concluded.

The event finalized with a farewell party at  Juana M Restaurant, where guests had fun, celebrated and enjoyed a musical tango.
